Little Bit of News; I'm Digital Editor for House and Home Magazine!
I posted this on Instagram 13 weeks ago, but still haven’t posted it here. Why? I think I’ve almost forgotten how to share good news. And part of me is always waiting for the other shoe to drop, and for something to happen. For there to be a catch, or an expiry date. Pretty grim mindset, eh? I blame 2020!
Anyway, here it is…
“Photo from 2014, I think, a few months into an internship with @houseandhomemagazine . I started off that internship with little else but a fascination with interiors magazines and a willingness to learn. With the guidance of a talented, clever and hilarious team, I learned a lot in a short space of time. A hell of a lot has happened since then; both personally and globally. I became a freelance copywriter and interior stylist, moved to London, had wonderful times, had tough times, moved home to rural Ireland, lived through a global pandemic. Some of it has been good, some bad, but it all eventually led me back to what I love doing- helping people find inspiration for living in a happier home.
So I'm pretty excited to have some good news to share for the first time in far too long. I'm the new Digital Editor for House and Home! I sat on this news for a minute because, I dunno, I really don't want to be insensitive to anyone struggling right now. A lot of people, particularly in the creative industry, are out of work. And it's hard to be excited when everyone around you is in such low spirits. And trust me, I get it. This is a really crappy time. But in the midst of it, I've found an opportunity I'm incredibly grateful for.”
If you want to check out some of my writing on interior tips, Irish home tours and my top homeware picks, pop on over to HouseandHome.ie, and follow along on Instagram, where I post interior inspo on the regular. We’re at over 70k followers, which is pretty damn cool. I'd really to increase that figure, hint hint. ;)
